The Chevrolet Corvette C7.R was built by Chevrolet and Pratt & Miller to replace its predecessor, the Corvette C6.R. It races in the GTLM category of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. It also races in the FIA WEC in the GTE-Am category and the GTE-Pro category in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
It was unveiled in 2014 and had four wins in its inaugural season. In 2015, it won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in its class.
In 2016, the Corvette C7.R had some changes with the aerodynamics such as having a new 3-D diffuser with tunnels underneath to create more downforce while improving efficiency and bigger rocker skirts [1].
